Paul Grimwood - 3rd from right with Squad One - Chicago Fire Dept (1990)

Paul Grimwood has served 26 years as a professional firefighter, mostly within the busy inner-city area of London's west-end. He has also served detachments to the fire departments of New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Miami, Dallas, Metro Dade Fla, Seattle, Paris, Valencia, Stockholm and Amsterdam. During the mid 1970s he served as a volunteer  firefighter in New York State USA. 

During his career he has studied structural firefighting tactics on an international basis and has presented over 50 technical papers, both as a writer and an international conference speaker. Much of his work has been referenced several times in UK scientific research studies covering tactical firefighting operations.

In 1992 his book Fog Attack became a major source of reference in the UK and strongly influenced major changes in the strategy & tactics employed by firefighters in the UK, USA, Australia, France and Holland, during structural firefighting operations.
