3D Firefighting 2005
Paul Grimwood's second book brought together four authors from around the world to present an international perspective of Grimwood's '3D Firefighting' concepts.

In an effort to broaden the firefighter's knowledge and awareness of the combustible nature of smoke in a structure fire, Grimwood introduced the term '3D Firefighting'. Along with Battalion Chief Ed Hartin (USA), John McDonough (NSW, Australia) and Shan Raffel (Queensland, Australia), Grimwood places great emphasis on how to recognize and deal with the hazards of Flashover; Backdraft; Smoke Explosion as well as a range of other Fire Gas Ignitions that lead to various forms of rapid fire phenomena.

'The training concept behind 3D Firefighting demands a complete culture change', says Grimwood. 'Fire-ground commanders and company officers should adopt a greater appreciation of the when; how; why; and where to deploy; attack; ventilate or isolate fires and gain a more in-depth and practical understanding of what 'coordinating' fire attack with ventilation actually means'.

FOG ATTACK 1992
Retired London & New York firefighter Paul Grimwood's first book was titled 'Fog Attack' and was published in 1992. It presented a detailed view of firefighting tactics from an international perspective and concentrated on innovative tactical approaches and deployment of firefighters into a wide range of structural firefighting situations.

There was much comparison between firefighting tactics in Europe and the USA. One reviewer of the book, the late Battalion Chief William Clark (FDNY), wrote 'Paul Grimwood, a London Firefighter, knows more abut the US Fire Service than do most American Firefighters'.

EURO-FIREFIGHTER is Paul Grimwood's third book published in 2008 this book takes a close look at ways of combining the very best of US and European fire-ground strategies into simple SOPs. He also looks at Limited staffing operations and presents a detailed text for CFBT Instructors and students, based on the new 2007 EdExcel CFBTI Qualification
